Manchester City can today put a dent in Liverpool's Premier League title hopes as the two English giants face off at the Etihad Stadium. The Reds have dropped points in their last two away games and will have been thrilled to see Arsenal lose at home at West Ham on Saturday, though know they still have a job to do today.

City are sweating over an injury to Erling Haaland, who was named on the bench against Real Madrid in midweek but was not fit enough to get on the pitch as his team crashed out of the Champions League before the knockout stage.

Liverpool will be desperate to get one over on an old title foe and prevent current title rival Arsenal from gaining further ground on them. Draws away at Everton and Aston Villa, either side of hard-fought, and narrow, win over Wolves, has cranked up the pressure on Merseyside.

The Reds have not won at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League since 2015, but have come away victorious twice in the cups since. Anything other than three points this afternoon will have Arsenal smelling blood. Follow the game LIVE below with our dedicated match blog!

Good afternoon and welcome to the Standard’s LIVE coverage of the Premier League clash between Manchester City and Liverpool at the Etihad.

The Reds have dropped points in their last two away games and, despite City’s struggles this season, know a trip to face the reigning champions is always a tough test.

They will have been hugely relieved to see Arsenal lose at home to West Ham yesterday, so must take advantage with at least a point today.

Kick-off is at 4.30pm. Stick with us.
